December 1st , 2006 - DOWN BY LAW!
Thanks to everyone who rolled out to Significant Fest this past weekend. We had a blast hanging out with all our friends (you know who you are!) and playing with a bunch of great bands - most notably Down By Law! We can not express how proud we are to have had the chance to share the stage with them as they ripped through a solid set of all their hits plus a Dag Nasty and DYS cover. The vibe was awesome and Dave Smalley had a lot of good things to say during the set. Also, if you missed out on Gator Bait and the Porcell set, you can check out videos online here.
Be sure to check out our upcoming shows. We're playing in Daytona in 2 weeks and in Orlando the day after in a Toys for Tots benefit. They'll be taking toy dontations at the door and the price is $7 if you bring a toy (new & unwrapped) or $12 without a toy. All proceeds will go to benefit needy children in the community this Christmas. Towards the end of the month we'll be playing TIFY fest in Daytona as well as the pre-show in Delray Beach. Check out a flyer here.
Right now we're finalizing some songs to go record next weekend. We'll be going into the studio to record a track for an upcoming 80's covers compilation, and about 10 demo tracks.
November 15th, 2006 - Winter tour plans, Canada tour
Hey everyone, we are more than stoked to be playing some excellent shows this winter. We'll be at both Significant Fest in Clearwater and This Is For You Fest in Daytona. Be sure to come and check out all of the awesome bands playing. We will have NEW merch at both of these shows so be sure to stop by the table and check it out.
Also, we were just announced to be playing with N.Y.H.C. legends AGNOSTIC FRONT and MADBALL at the Backbooth at the end of January. Mike C, of www.myspace.com/mikechardcore fame, will be sporting his coveted Skarhead jersey, you don't wanna miss this! Be sure to check out all of the upcoming shows here.
We will be joining xBishopx and Barriers Now Bridges for the Northeast portion of their winter tour from January 21st - 26th. We can't wait to go back up there see some familiar faces. Most of the dates are still in the process of being booked, but if you can help in any way, please send an message to xBishopx here with the date and city in the subject line. We're also mapping out a Canadian tour for mid-March. It's looking to be on the east side of Canada from 3/9-3/17 and we'll definitely be back in Quebec and Ottowa. We love Canadian poutine and can't wait to go back and indulge in it!
In recording news, we've come up with about 10 new songs at practice and hope to demo them sometime in the next month. We'll probably throw one of them up online here once we get them mixed down. So be sure to stay tuned.
Finally, to anyone who sent in answers to the contest (over 2 months ago, I know!), we are very sorry but have been waiting on your secret merch to arrive. We will send it out once we get it, don't think we forgot about you!!!
October 18th, 2006 - WHOOAAHHHH!!!
All Hallows Eve is approaching, and we are going to be donning our best nu-metal Hot Topic apparel, gothic fishnet stockings, and plether pants to do an extra-spooky A.F.I. cover set this Halloween (not really, we're doing old-AFI: anything up until the point where Davey started wearing makeup/bondage pants). It's gonna be at Jason's House in Deland (click here for directions) and the doors will open at exactly 6:66 at night (or 7:06pm for those of you who can't figure that out). The first band will go on once it starts getting dark. We're stoked to be sharing the show with our friends Into the Ruins as they will be covering the Misfits! The show is only $3 for the costume-wearers or $4 without. So dress up, save $$ & have fun!
This past weekend we got to play two shows down in South FL at Delray and West Palm beaches. Thanks to Joe & John for helping set those up, the dudes at BackBone Music, Brian for filming both sets, and anyone who moved their feet and sang along. It means alot to us, especially since we've only played down in that area twice before. We all had an incredible time and hope to be back down soon.
October 4th, 2006 - Contest info & upcoming shows...
Yo, we just want to thank everyone who spent countless hours searching for the secret site on our page. We're very close to getting all of the final answers and will be sending out the free merch by the end of October. So be expecting your free 'stuff' in the next 3-4 weeks.
We'd like to apologize to all our friends who have sent us e-mails and messages regarding us not playing as many shows lately. We've been busy working to save up $$ for a new van and writing lots of new material, but we have started booking some more shows in the coming months. You can check them out in the shows section for now.
Another piece of news is that we will be playing two pretty important fests this winter. The first one, Significant Fest, is going to be held on 11/24-11/26 in Clearwater and will host some amazing bands such as Down By Law, Murphy's Law, our brothers in Haunted Life, Vitality, and much more. At the end of December we'll be playing This Is For You Fest in Daytona with another slew of incredible bands. We are psyched for this and will probably get back on the road for a few days afterwards (assuming we can get some transportation!) and do some east coast dates. Check out the fest websites for more information!
September 11th, 2006 - Fresh new site layout, tour recap...
So tour was a blast! We want to thank everyone who gave us a floor (or park bench) to sleep on, booked us a show, came out to a show or played with us. There are far too many names to list you out individually, but you know who you are and we love you! We'd like to send an extra special thanks to our buddies in Cruel Hand for sharing the tour with us and also everyone in Canada. You made the international portion of our trip most EX-CELLANT! We can not wait to go back!!
Unfortunately, one hour away from home (after trekking 6,000+ miles), we had a tire blow-out on the highway. We were going a good 70mph and the van flipped. Charles was behind the wheel and able to maneuver the vehicle before it went sideways and save our lives. The van careened off the side of the road and our bass player Pick got ejected out of the window. Luckily, we all escaped with our health (Pick only suffered a few scratches on his back from skidding across the grass) and are very thankful for that. Our van, on the other hand, is pretty messed up and it might be a while til we're back on the road. It will be as soon as possible though!
On the lighter side of things, we hope you all enjoy the layout of the new site as much as we do. We basically ran out of room to put stuff on the old one, and decided to make a full-page site so we can fit all the extra random goodness all in one area for your personal enjoyment. Be sure to check out the new BIO section to get educated in a MoB history lesson. As an added bonus, we'll be running a contest for the first person to find the hidden link to a secret page set up on the new site. It is an invisible link, so it will be hard to find, but don't be discourged. The secret page is well worth it, all you need to do is be one of the first 10 people to answer the questions on it and send the correct answers to picktalife@yahoo.com. The first 10 fans who send in all the right answers will win some FREE top-secret Make or Break merch!
July 3rd, 2006 - Split CD Videos / Summer Tour help
For anyone who purchased the MoB/Haunted Life split and can't view the video on your PC, you need to open up My Computer, right-click the CD icon and click "Open". You should see two video files, to open these just double-click each one and you can see the ridiculous footage we threw on there! If you have trouble viewing the videos, you'll need Quicktime.
If anyone can help book dates in the northeast US & Canada, please check our MySpace page for open dates and e-mail Charles at offspri841@aol.com regarding any dates we need help with. Thanks!
